Kanha National Park in MP

Kanha is located in the Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh. Kanha National Park is a tiger reserve that extends over an area of over 940 square km. It is largest wildlife sanctuary in Asia.

It covers a large area of 1,945 square kilometers, out of which 940 square kilometers form the main park. The altitude of the park ranges from 450 meters to 900 meters above sea level. The temperature, ranges from 0 degrees in the winters to 48 degrees in the summers.

Visitors can find Indian Fox, Sloth bear, striped hyena, Jungle cut, Leopard, Mouse Deer, Chausingha, Nilgai, Ratel and Porcupine. Kanha has some 200 species of birds. Kanha national park has 22 species of mammals.

Water birds can be seen near this wildlife park many rivulets and at Sarvantal, a pool that is frequented by water birds and the area in front of the museum.

The visiting season to Kanha national park is within the months of April to June and November to January.
