Time clocks are one of the newest applications for biometrics. It is the measurement and use of a single human characteristic, like a fingerprint, handprint, to identify someone.

Biometric time clocks work by scanning and measuring the pattern of ridges and valleys on an employee’s finger or palm. Due to time fraud problem, biometric time clocks are the fastest growing segment in the time and attendance industry.

Biometric Clocks work exactly like a regular punch clock, what makes them unique is a normal clock punches the card, biometic time clocks validate the person. This is where cheatin the punch clock is eliminated.
