On tuesday, Senior BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan was sworn in as the 31st Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.
Chouhan was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Madhya Pradesh Governor Balram Jakhar in the presence of BJP president L K Advani, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and a galaxy of senior party leaders at Raj Bhavan.
Chouhan’s selection as Chief Minister came amidst stiff resistance from Uma Bharati’s supporters who had been mounting pressure for her return at the helm of affairs.
