Several areas in the southeastern coast of the country have been put on high alert as a cyclonic storm looming large over the Bay of Bengal.
The storm was lying about 400 kms south-east of coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh and was moving north-west.
Meanwhile, an alert has been issued in the State and neighboring Tamil Nadu, where officials said the storm could hit by Friday. While fishermen have been issued warning, many have ventured into the sea out of which only some have returned.
