Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar on Thursday said that the Government was considering separate colours for domestic and commercial LPG cylinders to prevent the use of subsidised cooking gas for non-domestic purposes.
He said this in reply to a suggestion made during a calling attention motion on the shortage of LPG and black marketing of kerosene in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday.
At present the colour of LPG cylinders for both domestic and commercial use was red, which made it difficult to detect the diversion of domestic ones for other uses.
