The four-day strike by airport workers against the privatisation of Delhi and Mumbai airports has ended.
After meeting with leaders of the airport workers, Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel said all airports will return to normalcy. The stalemate ended after Patel gave a written assurance that any alternate proposal for modernisation of airports, other than Mumbai and Delhi, will be sympathetically considered.
Also, there would be no job loss due to modernisation and no victimisation of any kind against those who participated in the strike. The panel will comprise representatives of Civil Aviation Ministry and the airport employees’ joint forum.
