The excavations of Harappa, Lothal and Mohanjo-Daro have shown the evidences of the civilization which existed many decades ago. It was probably the age of Aryans. In the fifth century, large parts of India were united under King Ashoka. He was a great warrior and ruled over whole India. He won the Kalinga battle but his heart was filled with sorrow when he saw the bodies of large number of innocent warriors. He decided to adopt the peaceful strategies and adopted Buddism.
