Some Rituals Are Done By Muslim People In Their Wedding Ceremonies

Muslims are the people who believe Allah as their god. Muslims consider the Quran as their holy book. There are so many rituals that are done by Muslim people in their Nikkah. Some of them are mentioned below with a brief description:

  • Salatul Ishtikara: This is the first wedding ritual of a Muslim wedding in which matchmaking is done. After seeing the signs, it is decided that the boy and girl are compatible with each other or not. This is a ritual that takes place during Arranged marriages only. This is the first and most important ritual of a Muslim wedding. This ritual is followed by Imam Zamin.
  • Imam Zamin: This is a ritual in which the mother-in-law of the bride visits the bride house with gifts and sweets. She visits there to tie a Silver coin wrapped in a yellow cloth on her hand. This is again the most important ritual of a Muslim wedding. This ritual of tradition is also known as Shagun tradition because goods, gifts, and sweets are given to the bride by her mother-in-law.
  • Mangini: This is a ritual in which rings are worn by the bride and groom on the left hands ring finger. This is the most common ceremony that takes place wedding of any kind of religion. Mangini is basically an exchange of rings, this ceremony is done with full fun and enjoyment by singing and dancing.

  • Manjha: This is a ritual in Muslim wedding in which a fine paste of turmeric is applied to the body of both the bride and groom. This ritual is similar to the Vatna ceremony of Hindu’s and Sikh the only difference is that it is known by different name.
  • Mehndi: Mehndi is a ritual in which the hands of the bride and groom are adorned with Henna. This ritual is followed by Sangeet. In Sangeet, all the family members, friends, and relatives enjoy dancing and singing.
  • Sanchaq: This is a tradition in which the future-in-laws of the bride visits the bride house and gift her the things such as money, jewelry, gifts etc. the outfit that is to be worn by the bride at the time of Nikkah is also sent to her house.
  • Nikkah: Muslim wedding knew by the name Nikkah. The bride and groom sit in front of each other and a curtain is held between them after that they are asked three times “Qabul Hai!” and if they say yes three times the Nikkah is complete.

  • Rukhsat: After the wedding is complete the bride is sent to the groom’s house and goodbye is given to her which is full of tears and love.
  • Reception: This is a party that is given by the groom’s family to their friends and relatives.
